Studio
The Sonoscopia studio is an electro-acoustic music studio focusing on early electronic music and musique concrète techniques, utilizing vintage industrial test- and measuring equipment to generate and effect sound. This equipment was not originally developed and intended for musical use, but through the experiments of Stockhausen, Varèse, and the BBC radiophonic workshop, it proved to form the basis of modern synthesis. Our studio offers oscillators, filters, lock-in amplifiers, function generators, noise sources, and pattern generators from brands like Rohde & Schwarz, Hewlett-Packard, and Bruel & Kjaer all wired to a big Ramsa mixing desk so all their unique sound qualities are at your fingertips. We have a Telefunken M5, Uher, and Revox tape machine for tape experiments and a 16-channel interface for recording straight to your computer.
